In 2009-10 we have four boys' teams, representing grades 5,6,7, and 8,
and serving close to 45 boys. We are proud of the fact that all of our
hard-working volunteer boys' coaches and assistant coaches are able to continue
helping us to build on the great things we have achieved!
Most boys and girls like this program because they can play
with their friends and make new friends at the same time. Parents like it
because their kids are learning a great sport, staying fit, learning about
being part of a team, and having fun at the same time; and because many of
their friends' families are also involved.
Some program details:
Open to all boys in grades 3-8
and girls in grades 5-8 who are registered members of IHM parish or school,
or who have played in our program previously.
If open spaces remain on a team
after the registration deadline, members of other nearby Catholic parishes
without teams may be eligible to join, subject to league approval.
CYO teams play competitively in
area CYO leagues, and emphasize advanced skills and team-building for more
experienced players. Tryouts may be required.
Recreational teams compete
against nearby parish, traveling, and recreational teams, and emphasize skill
development and team participation on a less competitive level.
Games run early December to
mid-March, with approx. 12-18 regular games, a Christmas tournament for most
teams, and playoffs.
Games and practices combined
take up no more than 2-3 weeknights or weekend days each week.
All home games and most
practices are in our own gym.
Reasonable registration fee
(just $95 for the season), and small admission fees charged at most games to
cover costs. Refundable deposit for uniforms.
Reasonable training or tournament
fees, if added at coaches' discretion, will be extra at actual cost.
A limited amount of parental
involvement is required at home games.
