Students at IHM School had a wonderful time celebrating Earth Day this year. From poetry and coloring contests, to planting seeds and designing board games, students of all ages got involved in making the world a better place. One of the highlights of Earth Day was a poetry and coloring contest. Students submitted their best poems and their most creative coloring pages. Fifth graders designed board games that teach us about the importance of taking care of our planet. Pre-K 3 sprouted pumpkin plants from seedlings. These young students were excited to learn about the growing process of plants. Students also read stories about the earth and completed art projects using recycled materials. All classes designed thematic bulletin boards which highlighted the importance of protecting the planet and showing actions we can take to make a positive difference in our world. To help spruce up the campus, students from St. John's High School came to lend a helping hand. They mulched garden beds, uprooted old shrubs, and planted flowers to beautify the campus. It was a positively, bright and active Earth day celebration at IHM School. The students had a great time learning about the environment and the importance of sustainability.
